April 1996, DigiNet Computers Ltd. was founded by entrepreneur Andy Tran Dao Anh, using his home as office. Inspired by fast-paced introduction of the personal computer in Ho Chi Minh City, he decided to start selling computer brands such as IPC, Fujistsu, Digital and Cannon.
1998, the company doubled its sales volume and headcount. DigiNet moved to a better office and started to expand its business to providing computer network installation and system integration services. Leveraging his school day knowledge in mathematics Andy also tried his hand at writing simple computer programs.
1999, Tim Nguyen, a Vietnamese origin American who came back to Vietnam after the doi moi policy, joined DigiNet by investing some of his savings. Tim and Andy had many discussions about the future of the computer and the internet, and decided to create an accouting software package name LEMON3, after the ubiquitous "Lemon Tree" pop song.
